- It looks like ages ago but actually it's only twenty eight years: on April 18, 1980 Adri founded a Stichting (Foundation) with the aim to support Christian Relieve Projects, especially behind the Iron Curtain. In the beginning years, weekly radio programs were transmitted in Albanian for the Albanians, but we helped in other areas as well. However, the curtain got rusty, and finally rotted away. Spiritual and financial help since then is given wherever needed, but the main focus is spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through mission and evangelization.
. - We have been able to be of help - or are still helping - in The Netherlands, Albania, Equador, Russia, Iraq, Italy, Albania, Poland, India, Malawi, Nigeria, Niger China and Egypt. Momentarily the main focus is India, where Stichting "De Vaste Burcht" (Foundation "The Mighty Fortress") started a children's home some eight years ago that gives shelter to 37 children in the age of 4 - 13 years. In the very backward area of Andrah Pradesh, in the village of Kannurupalem this project is changing society now. We feed the hungry, give milk to the undernourished children, pay minimal pensions to the poorest of poor. In this project we are supported by some ex colleagues of Adri, some relatives and friends and the Orphan Fund of New Day Ministries in the USA. In fact, this is the only project the foundation gets outside donations for.
Part of our work is done in collaboration with New Day Ministries in Minneapolis, MN, USA, especially the work in India. Occasionally we cooperate in other joint ventures, like our visit to Nigeria in 2004.
